Witches Potion

The children in first class made a really spooky witches potion!

First Aurelia added lots of vinegar to the cauldron...

Next, Natalia added in the washing up liquid.

Daniel added the food colour. We picked a spooky green colour!

Email is stirred the potion for us.

We all helped Katie say the magic words before the bread soda was poured in.

After we said the magic words the potion fizzed up!!!

We really liked making the witches potion!

If you would like to try make the potion at home, here's how....

250ml white vinegar

1 spoon of washing up liquid

4-5 drops of food colouring

5 spoons of bread soda

Enjoy making the spooky potion!!

Halloween Fun

We had lots of fun for Halloween in Múinteoir Sinéad's class. We opened the spooky treasure chest and found lots of Halloween treats and spooky costumes.

The children all dressed up in spooky costumes on Friday.

We played fun Halloween games like "pass the pumpkin".

We searched a spooky cauldron for "tricks" and "treats".

The whole school had a great costume parade to show off our spooky costumes.

The boys and girls made a witches potion too!

Robert even found the ring in the barnbrack!

We had SO much fun celebrating Halloween in Múinteoir Sinéad's room!

Halloween Spiders

We made really spooky spiders!

First we painted two paper plates black.

Then we stuck on black pipe cleaners and googley eyes.

Our Halloween Photo Booth is ready for tomorrow. Múinteoir Sinéad cannot wait to see all the spooky costumes tomorrow!

Maths Week

Maths Week Activities!

We celebrated Maths Week this week in school. We went on a Maths Trail in the playground. We were looking for different shapes and numbers in the playground and trim trail.

The boys and girls in First Class enjoyed playing new maths games.

We were very lucky to have Robert's mom and Roc's mom play Maths games with us on Friday. We had lots of fun!

Ballybane Library

First Class and Senior Infants were very lucky to be invited to a story telling session in Ballybane Library today.

We took the bus to the library.

We had lots of fun listening to the story about Oisín the Brave.
