Elsa's Frozen Hand

Today we were investigating how to turn water into a solid or a liquid.

First we froze the water to turn it into a solid.

Water, snowflakes, glitter and sprinkles were poured into a rubber glove. We froze the glove in the freezer.

It looked like Elsa's frozen hand!!!!

We turned the luquid into a solid by freezing it.

We all felt the frozen hand!
It was really really cold!!!!!

Then, we decided to turn the ice (a solid) back into water (a liquid).

We placed the Frozen hand on the radiator so the ice would melt with the heat.

After our investigation, we now know that by putting a liquid in cold conditions it will freeze and turn into a solid, and by adding heat it will melt the solid and turn it back into a liquid.

We can't wait to do more "Frozen" investigations!

Olaf, the Snowman

The boys and girls made Olaf Snowmen this week in art.

They cut out his body first.

Then they added pipe cleaners for his arms, nose and hair.

Teeth

We are learning about teeth and how to care for our teeth this week.

We have learnt what we use our teeth for, how to keep them healthy and what foods are bad for our teeth.

We have lots of interesting books about teeth and visiting the dentist to read.

Some of the boys and girls assembled a 3D model of a tooth.

Our Compliment Cup

This is our "Compliment Cup". We wrote down compliments about each other and put them in our special cup.

We love to give each other compliments in our class.
