Perfect Parrots

We finished our rainforest parrots today. We love the bright colours on the parrots.

First, we carefully cut them out. Our cutting skills are really improving!

Next, we stuck on bright colourful feathers into the parrots.

We think they look great!

Painting Parrots

One of the animals from the Amazon Rainforest we are learning about is the parrot. They are really colourful and live in the canopy layer of the rainforest.

We painted really colourful parrots today in art. Tomorrow, when they are dry we will cut them out and stick on bright feathers!

Amazon Rainforest Foods

We learnt more about food that comes from the Amazon Rainforest, such as vanilla, cacao beans, coffee beans, cinnamon and coconuts.

We had fun trying to guess what each of the foods were. We used our sense of touch and smell to guess.

The coconut, vanilla pods, cinnamon sticks and coffee beans had really strong smells.

Amazon Rainforest Fruit

Our theme for this fortnight is "The Amazon Rainforest". Today, we talked about the different fruits that grow in the Amazon Rainforest.

We looked at some fruits and talked about their colours and textures and how they grow.

Our favourite fruits were the pineapples, oranges, grapefruit, banana, passion fruit, mango, papaya, figs and limes.

There were three fruits that the boys and girls didn't know the names of.

They were very unusual, we had never seen them before. We can't wait to learn more about them!
