Chinese New Year

We have been learning about the Chinese New Year traditions this week.

To celebrate the end of festival we challenged ourselves to use some chopsticks, which was trickier than we thought!
We played a traditional Chinese game called Jianzi. It was fun, but very hard!

Since the Giant Panda is one of the national animals we created fact files with lots of interesting information about pandas.
For art, we drew Chinese New Year firework displays using chalk pastels.

We tried to write some numbers in Chinese writing! It was very tricky indeed!

We made Chinese lanterns too!

Coding

Múinteoir Ciarán showed us how to code with the Lego this week. It was great fun building the Lego and then using the ipad to create the code to make the Lego piece move!
