Our first science investigation!

On Friday we did our very first science investigation. We all planted cress seeds to show the important role the sun plays with helping the seeds to grow. 

We carefully planted the seeds and placed them in a nice sunny spot. 

Múinteoir Sinéad placed some of the seeds in a press that has no light. We are going to compare the growth of the seeds that have light and no light from the sun. 

We will  keep you up to date with our investigation! 

The Starry Night

We took inspiration this week from Vincent Van Gogh's "The Starry Night" for our art lesson and created our own versions of the painting. 

Coding Workshop

We had a coding workshop with three workers from SAP today. We had an opportunity to use the school laptops and the coding programme Scratch.

 We were presented with certificates at the end of the session. 

 We can't wait to use the computers again! 

Solar System Art

Our fortnightly theme is the Solar System. We have been talking about the different planets, the moon and the sun. For art, we used chalk pastels to create a picture of the Solar System.

Popcorn Fun!

In English we are learning about Procedural Writing. 

We worked really hard with our writing, making sure we had listed all the ingredients and equipment needed to make popcorn. 

Then, we made sure we wrote all the steps in the correct order. 

As a surprise for our hard work we then made some popcorn! It was GREAT fun!!!
